At The Little Global Village, we believe in an immersive approach to learning a second language at an early age.
Why?
Research shows that immersion programs are more effective because they incorporate ‘second language acquisition’ as the vehicle for learning a general education curriculum. This means course content is inherently more interesting for children – and they not only acquire a second language, they acquire pre-school concepts at the same time.
Language immersion translates into a world of benefits:
Greater academic aptitude — Bilingual students out-score their non-foreign language peers in the verbal and, surprisingly to some, the math sections of standardized tests.
Improved cognition — Foreign language learning is proven to increase critical thinking skills, creativity, and flexibility in the minds of young children.
Heightened cultural awareness — Appreciating other languages and cultures is a must-have 21st-century skill for American students as they prepare to live and work in a global society.
